University of Missouri

Master of Health Administration

Accreditations: Commission on Accreditation Healthcare Management Education (CAHME), Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools

Saint Louis University is the leading private institution for prospective MHA students. The University of Missouri is the top contender for those students looking to spend less on tuition and enjoy the benefits of a public university. The school’s Department of Health Management and Informatics is consistently rated as one of the best such schools by U.S. News and World Report.  It has earned recognition from both the College Board and Princeton Review for its academic rigor and overall value to graduates after they’ve completed the program. Like SLU, the program at Mizzou offers students several ways to pursue and complete their degree:

  • a residential MHA takes place on campus
  • an online MHA uses online instruction exclusively

An executive MHA program is also available, though additional credit hours will typically be required.

Students must complete a 12-week internship after both their first and second year of study in any of the MHA programs, whether online or offline. These internships serve as the basis for a strong chance of employment after graduation. The University of Missouri’s job placement rate for graduates often meets or exceeds the numbers offered by its chief competitor in Saint Louis University.
