Healthcare Management Masters Programs in Florida

Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Management

The MBA in Healthcare Management program is designed to provide students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to obtain leadership roles in various health services organizations. With a strong emphasis on practical application of the concepts and theories of management, students perfect their critical thinking, communication, teambuilding, ethical leadership, and problem solving skills. Intended for working professionals who already have a minimum of four years relevant work experience, the Healthcare MBA program is accelerated in order to enable students to earn their degree within 18 months in Saturday-only classes without interrupting their career.

Master of Science in Health Sciences – Health Sciences Administration (MSHS-HSA)

In order to prepare current and future health administrators to make positive contributions to the thriving healthcare industry, the MSHS-HSA program endeavors to help students understand healthcare systems, apply business/accounting skills, communicate effectively, manage healthcare professionals, and demonstrate excellence in leadership. While students have the option to enroll in face-to-face or hybrid online classes, all students are required to complete a minimum 51 credit hours and an internship experience in a healthcare setting prior to completion.

University of Florida

College of Public Health and Health Professions

As one of only 17 public land-grant universities that belong to the prestigious Association of American Universities, the University of Florida is the oldest, most comprehensive, and most academically diverse university in the state. Master of Health Administration (MHA)

In the on-campus Master of Health Administration Program, students at the University of Florida are prepared to become highly qualified and effective managers or administrators at various health services organizations. Since the program requires students to successfully complete a minimum of 63 credit hours, students can expect to finish the degree in two years. During the summer between the first and second year, students must actively participate in a 10 to 12-week full-time clinical internship within an approved healthcare setting throughout the North Central Florida region.

School of Business Administration

Located in sunny Southern Florida within a short distance of the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park, the University of Miami is a vibrant private research institution with more than 15,000 students in 12 distinct colleges pursuing more than 180 degree programs. Executive MBA in Health Sector Management and Policy

Focused on the post-graduate educational needs of professionals already fully employed in the healthcare industry, the Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Sector Management and Policy emphasizes the development of technical, administrative, business, and leadership skills specifically for health services. Following the curricula developed by the National Center for Healthcare Leadership (NCHL), the MBA program requires the completion of 48 credit hours in two years with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Since the program is designed as “lock-step,” students in each program progress together through a sequential pattern of coursework to build on their knowledge in an dynamic, intimate class environment.

Graduate School

Situated just 15 miles west of the beautiful pristine beaches of the Atlantic Coastline, the University of North Florida is a public four-year institution with more than 14,350 students on its vast 1,381-acre campus. Master of Health Administration (MHA)

The Master of Health Administration (MHA) program is designed to prepare students for both public and private sector leadership positions for health service organizations nationwide. The program is strongly focused on Management Science, Leadership/Planning, Public Policies, and Financial Management. Students who have substantial, meaningful work experience in Healthcare Administration are able to negotiate a reduced number of hours for their supervised field experience for an accelerated degree path, but all students must complete a minimum of 56 semester credit hours.
