The United States Capital was created in 1790 with the signing of the Residence Act. Washington, D.C., or the District of Columbia is an exclusive area that is under the jurisdiction of the United State Congress and is not a part of any U.S. state. The District, or D.C., is located along the Potomac River on the east coast of the country.
There are several professional schools within this area for the healthcare sciences. The following schools are available for applicants with an undergraduate degree in healthcare or an equivalent field.
George Washington University
George Washington University is a comprehensive and private research university. There are several academic degrees that are awarded along with academic schools within in the university. The schools award an undergraduate or bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a doctoral degree or Ph.D. The academic colleges are in the fields of science, medicine, economics, law, and additional areas of disciplined study. George Washington University was ranked in the top 10 schools by The Princeton Review in the following areas:

There are nearly 800 students participating in GW’s study abroad program each semester, and these programs are available in 50 countries. About 125 entering students each fall semester are joining the university honors program community of 500 students.

Georgetown University
Georgetown University is a research university founded in 1789 and is the oldest Jesuit and Catholic university in the United States. Healy Hall is on the campus and is noted as a National Historic Landmark. This building is in a Romanesque revival style of architecture. A law center is operated on Capital Hill, and there are auxiliary campuses in Italy, Turkey, and Qatar.
The master’s degree programs include several health administration graduate programs. These graduate programs are focused on public health and public policy degrees for administrators.
MS/HAS Program
The master’s programs in health administration services have a public policy and public administration emphasis. These programs are cutting edge in the science fields and incorporate research and practice in public health.
